VR Arcade Machines

Wireless arenas, motion seats and headset-free rooms.

Location-based VR has stopped being a novelty corner and become the anchor attraction — a bookable, ticketed experience that pulls groups in and gets them talking. The current generation is wireless, so there are no cables across the floor and no tethered PC backpacks; sessions are short, staffed lightly, and priced well above a per-play cabinet. We specify and place the format that suits the room: a four-player arena, a bank of motion seats, a treadmill esports pod, or a headset-free projection room for younger groups. Profit-share partnership, install and aftercare included.

AnchorFour players in wireless headsets inside a lit VR arena

Four-Player VR Arena

The headline attraction — wireless, social, spectator-friendly.

Four players share one tracked play space, see each other in the game, and shout across the room in real life. Spectator screens put the action on show for the queue, which is half the reason the format sells. Wireless headsets mean no cable to trip on and no operator untangling a rig between groups.

  • Up to 4 players per session
  • Wireless headsets · streamed graphics
  • Spectator screens for the queue
  • CORE, INFINITE & ULTIMATE footprints
CompactPlayer in a HOLOGATE Blitz motion seat wearing a VR headset

Motion Seat VR

Racing and coaster thrills from a single-seat footprint.

A motion-actuated seat paired with a headset delivers the physical part of the experience — pitch, roll and vibration timed to what the guest is seeing. Session lengths are short and predictable, which makes throughput easy to plan, and the footprint fits rooms that could never host an arena.

  • Single or paired seat configurations
  • Motion synced to on-screen action
  • Short, predictable session times
  • Fits where a full arena will not
PremiumSquad of players in VR headsets and haptic vests

Free-Roam Squad VR

Warehouse-scale missions with haptic feedback.

The top of the market: a large tracked space where a squad walks freely through the environment wearing haptic vests that register hits. It commands the highest ticket of any format and delivers the group photos that market the venue, but it needs the floor area and a staff member marshalling each session.

  • Large tracked free-roam play space
  • Haptic vests register in-game hits
  • Highest ticket value of the formats
  • Needs floor area and a session marshal
CompetitivePlayers on omnidirectional VR treadmills in an arcade bay

Treadmill Esports Arena

Omnidirectional treadmills with live leaderboards.

Players stand in a harnessed ring and physically run, crouch and strafe on an omnidirectional treadmill — the closest thing to actually moving through the game. Built around leaderboards and prize competitions, so it earns from repeat play by regulars rather than one-off curiosity.

  • Multi-bay treadmill configuration
  • Harnessed ring · physical movement
  • Leaderboards & prize competitions
  • Strong repeat-play demographic
Single omnidirectional VR treadmill station

Single-Bay VR Station

One treadmill footprint for testing the water.

A self-contained station for sites that want to prove VR demand before committing floor space, or to fill an awkward pocket that will not take a full attraction. Same premium ticket feel, a fraction of the footprint, and easy to add to as the numbers justify it.

  • Single-player footprint
  • Low-commitment trial placement
  • Premium pricing on a small floor area
  • Scale up as demand proves out
All agesChildren playing in a projection-mapped headset-free games room

Headset-Free Projection Room

Projection-mapped walls — no headset, no age limit.

The whole room becomes the game: walls and floor are projection-mapped and tracked, so groups play together with nothing on their faces. It solves the two objections that stop families booking VR — minimum age and motion sickness — which is why it dominates the birthday-party trade.

  • No headset · no minimum-age barrier
  • Whole-room projection & tracking
  • Large groups play together
  • Built for parties and school bookings

PlatformHOLOGATE / blooloop

HOLOGATE ARENA cuts the cables

HOLOGATE's flagship multiplayer system moved to wireless streaming — rendering the VR world on a server and streaming it into the headset rather than relying on the headset's own chip, so the graphics stay cinematic while the players roam free. It ships in three builds: ARENA CORE for maximum portability, ARENA INFINITE for a compact but striking play area, and ARENA ULTIMATE as the full anchor attraction with spectator screens, immersive audio and dynamic lighting.

ARENA INFINITE on the IAAPA Orlando floor

HOLOGATE took the wireless ARENA INFINITE to IAAPA Expo Orlando on booth #3686, pitching it as the complete HOLOGATE experience in a compact, fast-to-install footprint. The Smurfs joined a content library that already included Angry Birds and Ghostbusters VR Academy — licensed names that do the marketing work for a venue before a guest has tried VR at all.

MarketMordor Intelligence, Jan 2026

A category growing at 31% a year

The location-based VR market was valued at USD 1.90bn in 2025 and estimated at USD 2.76bn for 2026, forecast to reach USD 10.69bn by 2031 — a 31.1% compound growth rate. VR arcades account for roughly 45% of that spend. This is no longer an experiment operators are trialling; it is the fastest-growing line in out-of-home entertainment.

DemandThe VR Collective, 2026

“VR near me” searches up sixfold

Google searches for “VR near me” have run six times higher through 2026, and “VR birthday party” is up elevenfold — a sustained trend rather than a launch-week spike. The driver is children who already use VR at home and parents looking for a bookable group activity. The venues winning that traffic are the ones that show up in local search with a party package ready to sell.

PricingImmersive Audience Report

Guests would pay more than they are charged

The Immersive Audience Report found that people who had actually experienced location-based VR said they would have paid up to four times the ticket price they were charged. The hard part is selling the first ticket, not the second — which is why VR earns best as a signposted, ticketed attraction with a visible queue rather than a machine tucked in a back corner.

EconomicsMordor Intelligence, 2026

Payback windows have roughly halved

Headset hardware that cost well over a thousand dollars a unit in commercial trim has fallen dramatically as consumer models matured, and analysts now put typical break-even for a busy site at around twelve months against roughly eighteen previously. Lower entry cost is what has moved VR from a venture-funded gamble to something a normal leisure business can finance.
